Zen what?! Zentangle!

Allwright, day 3 of creative treats!
Today I’m introducing you to my latest addiction, zentangle. Zen what? Yes, zentangle! The complicated explanation is that it’s a combination of drawing and meditation. I call it fun and no- limited doodling! It all started with a mini tutorial made by Chantal at the heppie scrappy forum (she makes awesome things, check her out at: http://chantalsscrapblog.blogspot.nl) my first thoughts were: hmm, looks cool, don’t need a lot of material, let’s give it a try! And yep, a new addiction was born! I made 2 zentangles that day, and I did another one yesterday! I started small, in a bounded mini (10 x 10cm) by 7gypsies from my stash. but I'm already looking forward to some bigger challenges!

my very very first :-)
2nd one, trying out some patterns
I see a lot of beautiful feathers lately,
so that was my inspiration!
Okay, that’s it for today, see you again tomorrow ;-)

episode 2: mini's!

Yes Yes, so far I can keep my promise, day 2 of my daily posts this week! Although I’m writing while not totally awake. How come you think?! I woke up at 8 am (and that’s quite early for me!) ‘cause I’m expecting the mailman with some craft supplies (happy dance!), but… it’s now 1 pm and I still haven’t seen him, if only I knew… :-) oh well, in the meantime I’m surfing the net for some crafty ideas, not a big punishment!

In this post, I’ll be showing you some pictures of mini’s that I’ve made. The first one I made during a workshop at the scrapheap, I had a wonderful time over there! The mini is actually like a box, and the pages are also little boxes that you can unfold. I’m currently looking  for some pics to go in it. When decorated, the boxes will be tied in with some ribbon, but I think it looks awesome already!  The second mini I kind of improvised a bit, after watching a you tube episode from My Sisters Scrapper. I like the paper, it gives me the feeling that Spring is coming soon! This mini also needs some pictures as well. That’s kind of my problem, I love making mini’s, but I don’t have a lot of pictures to go in there, oops :-)
Well, I’ll be back with more projects tomorrow, in the meantime, let me know what you think of these puppies!

Creative juices are flowing again!

Hello world!
First of all… Happy New Year! Oh my, oops, it’s February already… 3 months without blogging, I can’t believe how fast time flies by! I have to be honest, I wasn’t very creative the last couple of months so I obviously didn’t blog as well. February seems to be the month that makes the creative juices flowing, ‘cause I’m feeling in the mood again!

I started my 2015- creative process by making mini spreads for the “journal 52” weekly challenges, provided by Chelle Stein at journal52.com.  next to that, I’m participating the Documented Life Project. A huge challenge for me, because I’m not used to working on such big pages. So yes… I’m already behind, haha! Next, I made my very first zentangle! I’m a member of the heppie scrappy forum, and the lovely Chantal posted a mini tutorial so I had to give it a try! And yes, a new hobby was born… I’m also in a mini- album mood again, so after watching some you-tube videos from My Sister Scrapper I made a mini as well! It’s totally finished, I only have to add some pictures and embellishments.

So yes, I’m back in town! Enjoy the pictures of my new projects, I'll be posting some every day this week (making up my delay on blogging :-)) and please, don’t hesitate to let me know what you think, I love reading your comments!
Creative greetings!

Art journal page in my France Papillon book,
made with distress ink, paint, wendi vecchi paste and stamping.
One of my DLP pages. Not in love with it but not super ugly as well :-)
Worked with paint, handmade stencil and stamps.
Also an attempt in lettering, think I need a lot more practice :-)
